Entrance of The Theotokos into the Temple

VMEntrnc06

Brothers and Sisters,

On the Feast of the Entrance of the Theotokos into the Temple we see an image of the true aim of Christian life. We too are to be set apart as those who will bear Christ in all ways, and in all times and places.

Just as the pure Virgin is led, and accompanied, into the Temple by virgins with lamps in their hands. So too, the pure in heart are guided and illumined by the gifts of God, by virtues, by faith, hope, and love, to truly encounter the Living God in the Church, the Body of Christ.

As we continue our sojourn of fasting, prayer, and expectancy for the advent of the Lord, we can find great hope and help in our Lady who is set apart today, a chosen vessel of that same Lord who comes to redeem the nations.

Joyous Feast!
