“Paul, called by the will of God to be an apostle of Christ Jesus, and our brother Sos′thenes,
To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints together with all those who in every place call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both their Lord and ours:
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.” (I Cor. 1:1-3)
Dear brothers and sisters,
We will begin a study of St. Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians this Wednesday following the Akathist to Sts. Peter and Paul.
I will offer a brief introduction to the letter as a whole, and remarks about the first few verses.
The main theme is a call to unity in Jesus Christ who called us to new life, and upon whom we call for salvation.
Bring a Bible, and perhaps a notebook. As we continue the study, I encourage you to read through the entire letter. Perhaps one or two chapters a day.
The Akathist, as well as the study will, of course, be streamed on Facebook here:
Service starts at 6pm, the class will likely begin at 6:50 and will last 20 minutes or so.
I hope you can join us.
In Christ,
Fr. Jeffrey
